On Things Frivolous
Alan is asleep so I am bored; I have been trying for the last hour to paint my nails with a "French tip" design. I never knew my hands were so unsteady... I am typing as my nails are letting dry the fourth layer of polish, and they look horrible. But, since I have invested so much time in making them look this way I think I shall leave them this way for a while. Maybe with practice I will get better, or, maybe I will decide to hand over the matter to professionals.

You must get the kit from the drugstore that sells you the base polish, the white tip polish, and the little tape strips that help you make a nice line where your nail meets the nail bed. I have tried it many times both ways, with and without the tape things, and it's basically impossible to do it without the tape things. Buy the tape things.
