I went to Venezuela!!
It is true. I went for one crazy week of vacation to the land of Cocos Frios and Green Jungles. Aside from a few minor mosquito bites the trip went fairly well. I had lots of fun: I hung out with my mom, we went to Merida (one of my favorite Venezuelan towns), and -best of all- my brother Max has decided to come to California and go to school here for a while! Yay! He will be here by the 19th of May, just in time to attend my engagement party.
On the down side, since my brother is coming to live with my dad I will have to find new living accommodations. My dad's apartment is too small for the three of us. At first I was apprehensive of the idea of my own dad telling me I need to leave the house so Maxwell can have a bedroom. After all, I thought I had made very clear to my father that I wanted to live at home with my family until I married. Besides, I am the only daughter. How could he even think about kicking me out? Had he no heart? Had he no soul? There are millions of families around the world that have three times as many family members who all live under a roof smaller than our little apartment. Why couldn't we be a loving little family in a little home?
However, after careful thought, I have come to the realization that I probably do not want to live in such close proximity to multiple slobs anyway. I would just end up cleaning up after them all the time. And, I do not need to explain how much I hate cleaning. So screw them! I'm getting a place of my own... and they can come to visit.

Congratulations!!
I am proud of you. No one should go from living with your parent/s to living with your husband---you need to find out what it's like to be totally INDEPENDENT, living on your own. Especially a liberated, modern young woman as you seem to be.
You might just find you like being the total boss of the place. It can be decorated your way, run your way, all yours.
I am sure you didn't mean that last remark, "screw them"--rather harsh when your Dad seems to have been very good to you and only wants your brother to have the same opportunity? And your brother surely has done nothing to generate such a crass wish. He hasn't even gotten here yet?
You make a good point...living with one boy is hard enough...two may have proved to be more than you can handle. I have three. (groan) You're going to have lots of fun making a little home for yourself.
How about living with your fiance? When IS the wedding, by the way? Or is it more fun to have a gigantic rock on your finger with none of the responsibilities that come with it?
Mitigator Rules!
I can recommend a new “scrub” product called “Mitigator Sting & Bite Treatment”; to say that it is terrific is an understatement! It actually removes venom by exfoliating the top layer of skin, opening the pores and drawing out the toxins. I had instant relief from pain and itching and all traces of the sting disappeared within minutes. I found it on the web at www.Mitigator.net which is their military website. I called and they sold me (6) ½ ounce packages for about $2.00/pack (each resealable pack treats about 20 stings or bites). The only thing that can create a problem is if you wait too long to apply it, it should be rubbed in vigorously within the first few minutes after the bite or sting – the longer you wait, the less effective it is. I’ve used it on bees, wasps, fire ants (no blisters even appeared), mosquitoes and chiggers. They say it works on jellyfish but I’m a long way from the ocean so I haven’t needed it for that problem. No smelly chemicals, works great and is even safe for kids (the scrubbing replaces scratching so – no secondary infections). I should make a commercial for them!
