Why do computers hate me??

All I want to do is read a passage in Spanish... And none of the Spanish symbols will display accurately. I tried my home computer AND my laptop. None of them work. So, I need to come up with a theory about why modern technology is Super Evil / Hindrance to the world, to make me feel better.

Maybe I should start with my dentist: I go to get a routine procedure, and he tries to sell me a necklace that will "prevent my brain from frying". Apparently cell phone use can cause brain tumors, which this necklace for 19.99 can prevent. And, dentists can't afford to make a decent living off of cleaning people's mouths alone, so they are forced to sell me bunk.

This has just not been my week.
