CHRISTMAS = TIME TO PLAY!
To celebrate the birth of Jesus I went and stayed a couple of days at Alan's house. (My dad is the Grinch who hates Christmas) We had a ton of fun!! The 25th was spent in Salinas with his family. There were presents everywhere underneath the big Christmas tree and in the many stocking hanging by the fireplace. There was a big family dinner, and even the neighbors stopped by for some chatting and good-willing. It was so perfect I almost freaked out.
Alan gave me a pocket knife. It was exactly what I wanted. It was in my hand for no more than 45 sec. before I cut my finger trying to pull out all the appliances. The beautiful earrings he also got me are not sharp enough to cut myself with -thank God-.
The day after Christmas Alan and I went ice-skating in a little tented ring, with young boys whizzing past us -only to fall down few swooshes ahead- and little girls, dressed in pink sparkly things, giggling on ice. There were parents and grandparents taking pictures of their little ones from the stands. One little boy, who couldn't be older than 6, was trying very hard to skate. This little boy danced a wobbly dance all across the ring, with his arms flaring about in a frantic way trying to find balance. You had to admire how he kept getting up to try again.
All in all, I think things couldn't have been better. Winter Break is the best!

Yes it was a perfect christmas! And yeah that little guy did do the ice skate dance across and back, arms spinning so fast they were like two little circles, it was absolutely amazing how he managed to stay up with his arms and legs everywhere but on the ice.
