Arrr, My Lord!
Real live pirates off the coast of Somalia attacked a cruise ship. Pirates. With all the Disney movies and cheesy horror flicks I had forgotten that Pirates actually existed, and are a serious threat. I always thought of them as a romanticized part of history. I'm shocked! Here is the link to the CNN article: Cruise Ship attacked!!
I even dressed up as a Pirate for last Halloween. I don't know what to say. I feel like I'm living in some over-budgeted sci-fi movie where ships from evil rich countries battle against starving third-world looters with super-sonic weapons; except, it's not a movie. These are real people, with real lives.
Welcome to the future mates.

The sonic weapon they are talking about produces enough force to actually knock people off their feet...over and over and over. I'm sure if they fell in the water they would probably drown as well. Sonic weapons are pretty widely used unfortunately =\ The Israelis use them along the Gaza strip, by flying low in their jets and causing sonic booms over the settlers several times a day. This has caused everything from miscarriages to "shell shock" in small children. Of course this is under the guise of "we're on maneuvers and practicing" and such. Sonic weapons are nasty. Some “less nasty” ones we’re used in New Orleans to deter looters. All they do is angle a wide dish in a general direction, and suddenly everyone feels nauseous and panicky, sub-harmonic frequency stuff.
I turned this into a post on my blog

I found the Zara! It's on Post St., a block away from Union Square. I also found the H&M (opening Nov. 19! 8 more days!!!)! It's on Powell St., between Market & Union Square.
