Alan and I have been looking for a new apartment. Our lease is up at our current location and we both feel that it is time for something new, and cheaper. I have mostly been looking on Craigslist for our new place to live. There are lots of scams on Craigslist. Here is an example of a scam email that I received today. So for now, we are here in West Africa, our new house and put all my worries off concerning the maintenance of the apartment for, since i am not residing there for now. I left behind some Facilities and electonics which include the rent, DVD player, air conditioning, alarm system. I asked him about the apartment, and he replied me exactly the same mail!!
Thanks to my roommate that she stopped me to believe this scam!!!
I almost believed him. I actually called him and use email to communicate with him back and forth. Anyway, what can I do to report to the authorities??

Just got the same email for an apt on Craig's List in Cupertino -175 Culvert.

Thank you so much for posting these. These ads are still going around on Craigslist. All I did was type in "due to my transfer that makes me and my wife and little daughter to leave the apartment and also want to give it out for rent" and found your orginal blog. It is similar to a scam where the person is looking to rent an apt and claims the employer will supply the payment, etc. I discovered info on that one from a blog called "Let's Get the Craigslist Scammers" at http://craigslistscammer.blogspot.com/2008/07/james-farrell-british-dinosaur-expert.html Thank goodness for blogs and Google!
